For the fifth time, a Solluna Builders home has been selected for the annual Cool House Tour. Mark your calendar for Sunday, June 9, 2019.
The Cool House Tour, sponsored by Texas Solar Energy Society and Austin Energy Green Building, is always popular.
The Solluna home featured on the tour was built for Travis Audubon on their 715-acre Baker Sanctuary, a refuge for the endangered golden-cheeked warbler and part of the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve. The home, a residence for the land steward and his family, features a 30,000-gallon rain water collection system that provides all the water the home needs. And, with an 8-kilowatt solar photovoltaic system, the home will produce almost as much electricity as it uses over a year -- a net-zero home.
A bonus: On the day of the tour, you'll be invited to hike the Sanctuary trails, normally open only to Travis Audubon members.
Come out. Take a tour. There will be plenty of people on hand to answer your questions.
