Credentials

Wayne Jeansonne is an Austin-based entrepreneur, teacher, speaker and owner of the custom residential green building company Solluna Builders. He has been a passionate advocate for green building practices since 1999 when he was business manager of the Green Builder program of American YouthWorks, an Austin-based, nationally recognized community human services agency. The program provided a tremendous learning field for both students and leaders as they tried out a variety of techniques and materials to build low-cost homes that were energy-efficient, durable, healthy and cost-effective for their owners.

Determined to take green building mainstream, Wayne started his own custom residential construction company for both new construction and remodels in 2002. His experience as a real estate agent makes him particularly adept at helping homeowners choose features, materials and improvements that can greatly increase the value of their property, and his focus on green building techniques helps clients create comfortable, healthy, energy-efficient homes.

Solluna Builders has won the prestigious Five Star Award from the Austin Energy Green Building Program, and the Silver MAX Award for best green home from the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin.

Construction of a five-star home in east Austin was recently filmed by the Discovery Channel for the TV show “Greenovate,” airing on the Planet Green network.

Wayne is a member of the Austin Energy Green Building Program, the Austin Sustainable Building Council, and the National Association of Home Builders.

By the way, "Solluna" is a combination of the Spanish words for sun and moon -- el sol y la luna.
