We recently attended a meeting of the Custom Builder and Remodeler Council. It's part of the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin.
The guest speaker that day was Rusty Shelton, who talked about his book Mastering the New Media Landscape. One thing Randy impressed upon us is that if you're not presenting an active website, people might think you're out of business.
Then I realized our new website is now two years old, and there had been a two-year gap between blog posts.
So please allow me to mis-quote Mark Twain again: "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated."
Solluna is still in business and doing better than ever. Two years ago when we ceased blogging, it was supposed to be only a short respite. After five years of writing blogs, we thought we had run out of material. We got burned out trying to keep up with the monthly demand for new content. And if you'll give me a minute, I'll come up with a couple of more excuses why we stopped.
Well, guess what? We're back. We have fresh ideas, new content and a different presentation. Instead of monthly, we will be give you something every couple of weeks.
Sure, we'll still do the longer blogs that go into greater detail about the things you really want to know about. But we'll be adding news, events, and information in short, easier-to-use bites. Solluna is beginning to offer more services you need to know about. There are changes in the building/remodeling industry that will affect decisions you're trying to make. Lots of other people have ideas that need to be shared. We want our blog to be that place.
What can we do to make it better? That is one of the fun things about being in the building industry. We get to ask: How can we make it better? So now we're asking you: How can we make our blog better? More informative? On point? Interesting?
