How're We Doin'?

For two years now, we've been publishing our Solluna Builders blog and newsletter. It's truly a labor of love, and so it's gratifying when people -- friends, clients, contractors, suppliers, and others -- take the time to stop and tell us how much they enjoy reading it. We know that building or remodeling a home can be a daunting process. I mean, it's not something you do every day, and there are so darn many interconnected parts. So many choices. So many ways to do it right, and ways to do it wrong. Did you know: More than forty different contractors and vendors can be involved in building a home.

And because our business at Solluna Builders is dedicated to building energy-efficient, high-performance, healthy homes for families who have the best of intentions, we face even more careful choices and considerations. All the parts contribute to the whole.

In our blog and newsletter, we try to cover some of the questions our clients bring us. We point out resources where you can get more information if you want it. We try to demystify some of the process of planning, designing, and building a new home or remodel. Our colleague Debra Blessman, CPBD, of Select Home Design weighs in occasionally about design issues. Our client Mev Jenson made us laugh with her blog post in February about the perils of remodeling. Last year, our clients Dan Cripe and Karen Cripe updated us regularly about their zero-energy home, the first green-rated home in Round Rock -- we'll check in with them soon to see how their home is performing for them.

So here's my question for you: We're here trying to shed a little bit of light in our little corner of the world. How are we doing? We'd love to hear from you. Got any burning questions you want us to tackle? Topics you want to know more about? Something obvious that we're missing?

Long ago, I saw a sign in a cafe. It said: "If you like our food, tell others. If you don't like it, tell us."

Do me a favor? If you think our newsletter is worthwhile and you know someone who could use the information, please pass it along to them. If you have a comment or suggestion, let us know -- scroll down and leave a comment. Or just send us an email.

Thanks, and we'll see ya next month.
